『 ひのきちゃん と あんずちゃん 』（兵庫県）
▶ 保護猫ちゃんなのです

ひのきちゃんとあんずちゃんと名付けられたふたりはとても仲良し。好奇心が旺盛なひのきちゃんと、ちょっとこわがりのあんずちゃん。どちらも甘えん坊。猫好きのクリニックの先生に引き取られて幸せにくらしているそうです。
▶ エピソード
あんずちゃんは名前と被毛の色からサクラを選びました。一方のひのきちゃんは名前から針葉樹のヒノキを選びました。針葉樹をはじめて扱うので上手くいくのか迷いがありました。ですが、UOILがあるからきっと大丈夫だろうと挑戦しました。ヒノキは白身と赤身があり、その両方を功工人に頼んでロクロで挽いてもらって、木目の美しさから白身の方を選びました。
▶ 作者が考えたことは
あんずちゃんはデフォルメするのを許してくれなかった（と感じた）ので、新たな水性ペンを見つけて絵付けをした手のかかったこけしちゃん。院長先生に写真を追加で送ってもらったことでイメージが浮かび、楽しく仕上げられた作品であります。
あらたな工夫を経験させてくれたふたりに感謝です。
Story of Premiums (Episode 5)

The two, named Hinoki-chan and Anzu-chan,
are very good friends. Hinoki who is full of curiosity and Anzu who is a little
scared. Both are sweethearts. It seems that they are living happily ever after
being taken in by a cat-loving clinic doctor.
▶ Episode
For Anzu-chan, I chose cherry wood because
of her name and the color of her coat. On the other hand, for Hinoki-chan, I
chose Hinoki, a coniferous tree, because of his name. It was my first time working
with conifers, so I wasn't sure if I could do it well. However, I decided to
challenge because I thought it would be okay because I had UOIL. Hinoki has
white and red meat. I had a craftsman grind both of them on a potter's wheel.
And I chose white because of the beauty of the wood grain.
▶ What the author thought
Anzu-chan didn't allow me to deform her (that's how I felt). So I found a new water-based pen and started painting. I had the owner's teacher send me additional photos, and I came up with an image and finished the work.
I am grateful to the two of them who let me experience
new ingenuity.
