めんこいなは思いきってその動物に声をかけてみました。
「こんにちは、はじめまして、深い森からきたうさぎです」
すると、かぼそい声でおへんじがかえってきました。
「は・じ・め・ま・し・て、わたしはうさぎ」
「おどろいたわ！まっしろでとてもきれいなうさぎね！」
「ほめられてはずかしいわ。わたしは白い森に棲んでいるうさぎよ」
めんこいなは思いきって白い森のうさぎに名前をききました。
「私のなまえは、めんこいな。あなたのおなまえを教えてほしいな」
はにかむにようにしずかな声で教えてくれました。
「すてきなおなまえね、オショシーナ」
オショシーナは、はずかしくなって耳で顔を隠しました。
ふたりはすぐになかよしになりました。
Menkoina took the plunge and called out to the animal.
"Hello, nice to meet you. I'm a rabbit from the deep forest."
Then a reply came back in a hoarse voice.
" Ni・ce to me・et yo・u, I am a rabbit."
"I was surprised! What a beautiful white rabbit!"
"I'm embarrassed to be praised. I'm the rabbit that lives in the White Forest."
Menkoina took the plunge and asked the name of the white forest rabbit.
"My name is a Menkoina. Please tell me your name."
"Thank you for telling me your name, Menkoina . My name is Oshosina."
She told me in a shy and quiet voice.
"What a lovely name, Oshosina."
Oshosina was embarrassed and hid her face with her ears.
The two soon became good friends.
